Traditional Dance of Yemayá (solo)
This performance honors Yemayá, the Orisha of the ocean — mother of waves, depth, and creation. The traditional dance was first performed in the prestigious Palenque at the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba in Havana, in collaboration with Los Chinitos, and later reinterpreted in Brussels for the Plaisirs d’Été Festival 2024. Through song, rhythm, and undulating movement, the piece celebrates the fluid power and nurturing strength of Yemayá, inviting the audience into the sacred pulse of the sea and the feminine divine.
