Questions on more-than-human and inclusive listening

How can my human awareness include more-than-human?

Reflecting on the multispecies choir of life and more than human awareness.

As an artist -

How do I create territories of care where we all can come and care for something (at least this place) together?

Place that obviously needs some form of protection

But not for humans (not becoming a park)

But against humans (staying wild and biodiverse)

(Yes, wild,

Yes, we belong to the most impactful and destroyful race of beings on this planet

Yes, we, humans, usually think of only what is good for us)

Place needs humans to somehow come together for taking those decisions.

(yes, because, if there are no decisions and no guardian humans - other humans, not so restricted by the rules will make a wasteland out of place)

Also, because we left the chain of biodiversity, and if there are no rules for us - there is harm.

What about more-than-human rights?

I did once an online WOTR (work that reconnects) webinar that was held as a council of all water beings. Simple and questionable, but powerful, we followed the spiral of 4 questions:

Who am I (what water being I represent)?

What am I grateful for (gratitude is a cornerstone for the WOTR)?

As this being, what is my experience of the world?

What do I need the humans to hear/feel/know?

In a way by ths exercise you humanize certain being, but also you learn to be in the place of that being, and the sadness, the shame, the needs come clearer.

What I reflect on this spiral of 4 questions - I doubt.

Can I really listen and represent (in the spirit of Joanne Macy) what more than human might say?

I do not know, actually.

But I can listen.

Listen first.

What nature wants.

What nature thinks.

And of course, I am humbled.

Who am I at all to represent?

But if I do not try imagine it (even in my limited overly human way)

At least this time

For this weekend (or day or hour)

The other, more-than-human view (which in the end is only species-inclusive)

I might never come on terms with anyone or anything that is not anthropocene.

Becoming otherness which I already am through all I eat and breath.

Bowing down to this accommodation of human and non-human.

Where is really human?

What really is important?
